On 29th March Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre hosted the “Golden Cross of the Stage” awards ceremony, the highest and most important awards given to theatre professionals in Lithuania. We are very proud to announce that a total of six artists of the LNOBT were awarded during the ceremony.
The principal “Golden Cross of the Stage” for Lifetime Achievements was awarded to opera soloist Sigutė Stonytė.
Ballet soloists Greta Gylytė and Eligijus Butkus were awarded as best dancers of the year 2015 for principal roles in Krzysztof Pastor‘s one-act ballet “Boleto+”.
The role of Manon in Jules Massenet’s opera “Manon” brought the Golden Cross of the Stage to Viktorija Miškūnaitė – she was awarded as the best opera soloist of the year.
Martynas Rimeikis won the Golden Cross of the Stage in the category of choreography for the production of his one-act ballet “Everywhere We Weren’t”.
Conductor Modestas Barkauskas was awarded in the young artists category for his work on the triple bill of one-act ballets “Bolero+” (as music director) and the conducting of Eduardas Balsys’ ballet “Eglė the Queen of Grass Snakes“.
