Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre has been running the Opera Trainee Programme since 2013. Young opera soloists, selected during auditions, become soloists of the Opera Theatre for the entire season and are given the opportunity to work with the best singing teachers Prof. Sigutė Stonytė and Prof. Vladimiras Prudnikovas, as well as various directors and conductors. With their help they are preparing roles for the theatre stage, participating in performances, and gaining professional experience.
Every spring these future opera stars are sharing their skills with the public during the final concert. This year, we will enjoy performances by the young soloists Gabija Kušleikaitė (mezzo-soprano), Skirmantė Vaičiūtė (mezzo-soprano), Mindaugas Tomas Miškinis (baritone) - the audience has already seen them in productions and concerts, and this is a wonderful opportunity to get to know them better. During the concert, the singers will be accompanied by LNOBT's concertmaster Artur Shutov and cellist Ignė Pikalavičiūtė. The program includes works by J. Offenbach, G. Fauré, C. Saint-Saëns, H. Berlioz, M. Ravel other French composers, whose music is radiating the freshness and elegance of French spring.
