A unique opportunity for our most curious spectators – a glimpse into the everyday life of the theatre. On 24 January, we invite you to an open rehearsal of the classical ballet “Don Quixote” in the Great Hall of the LNOBT. Having purchased tickets, spectators will be able to get to know the unadorned side of the work of the main Lithuanian ballet company.
Every detail of the choreography is important in a ballet performance, which is why they are polished very carefully during the rehearsal. You can see not only how the artists perform their tasks, but also how an international team of professionals works with them – this is something that the theatregoers don’t see. Everyday work does not shine with fancy costumes or the grandeur of the orchestral sound – the most important element here is to prepare the role as well as possible, so that the planned performance impresses everyone present.
“Don Quixote”, the pearl of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre’s repertoire, was staged by choreographer Vasily Medvedev. It is a real celebration for lovers of the classics. We are pleased to have this unique opportunity to reveal part of the secret – that which is hidden behind the polished magic of ballet.
The rehearsal will take place from 11:10 AM to 1:00 PM (early departures are possible). Doors open at 10:40 AM.
Please note that this is a working rehearsal, with pauses and comments (in Lithuanian and English), and the performers will participate without makeup or costumes.
Discounts and concessions do not apply.
