Dance opera Forever and a Day is an entirely new production by the Israeli choreographer Itzik Galili, created especially for the LNOBT. I. Galili himself points out that the work presents a new genre, in which dance, singing and poetry join forces. The production is telling different stories of unfulfilled love and turns into a space where all broken hearts can meet.
Another significant fact is that the choreographer is working with Lithuanian creative team, that includes composer Rita Mačiliūnaitė, conductors Ričardas Šumila and Julius Geniušas, and dramaturg Ingrida Gerbutavičiūtė.
LNOBT’s ballet company has previously collaborated with I. Galili during the production of his ballet Things I Told Nobody, presented during an evening of one-act ballets Bolero+.
The Kingdom of Love
How slowly we walked
Wearing the injustice of History
To the Kingdom of Love
We could not speak
Nor write
We were wandering arrows
In the Kingdom of Love
We were objects of life
Immune to lies
We had everything
We were strong
Bright
Fast
Eager to lose
Our minds
Our lives
Those who remained
To tell us about that forgotten love
Life
Slowly walked
The Kingdom of Love
Premiere: 25 October 2019
