Additional Performances Before LNOBT’s Closing for Renovation

Additional Performances Before LNOBT’s Closing for Renovation

Those who couldn’t get tickets to LNOBT’s performances should take heart: additional performances of the Spanish operetta "Zarsuela", the ballet "Piaf" and the opera "Alice in Wonderland" for children have been announced for early April.

Also, LNOBT’s opera studio trainees will invite fans of operatic singing to the gala concert "Viva la voce". In order to help promising young performers join the theatre company, LNOBT annually organizes an audition for young opera soloists, during which the best performing applicants are invited to become participants in the Opera Trainee Program. In 2022-2023 the program is characterized by an extremely large number of trainees: as many as eight young opera soloists are improving their professional skills.

One of them is tenor Karolis Kašiuba, who performed the part of Tigrūdis in Feliksas Bajoras’ opera "The Lamb of God" and was recently recognized as the Opera Hope of the Year. Another intern, bass Paulius Prasauskas, was nominated for the "Golden Cross of the Stage" a couple of years ago for his role as Lord Rochefort in Gaetano Donizetti's opera "Anna Bolena".

During the opera trainee concert “Viva la voce”, which will take place on 6 April at 6:30 at the Red Foyer of the LNOBT, the singers shall include Greta Keraitė (soprano), Austėja Zinkevičiūtė (soprano), Evelina Volodkovič (mezzosoprano), Laurynas Aksamitas (tenor), Alfredas Miniotas (bass), Joris Rubinovas (bass).

We will also see some of these young soloists on the stage of the theatre on 4 and 5 April at 6:30 p.m. in the scheduled performances of "Zarzuela", as well as the children's opera "Alice in Wonderland", with additional performance shown on 8 April at 12 o'clock.

LNOBT’s ballet company will invite the audience to the ballet "Piaf", reflecting on the fate of French chanson legend Édith Piaf in the language of dance, on 7 April at 6:30 p.m.

LNOBT reminds the esteemed viewers that after a week of additional performances presented in early April, the theatre building will close its doors for renovation, which will last until the premiere of Giuseppe Verdi's opera "Aida", which is expected on 10 November. Tickets to this premiere, as well as other performances that will be shown at the end of the year, can already be purchased.

We will be waiting for our dear spectators at the events and tour performances of the summer festival "LNOBT Open", of which quite a few are planned this year. Follow our news!
