“II once heard that Lithuanian fairy tales are grey, sad, cruel... Not true! I started reading Lithuanian myths, and I really liked them, they are so interesting. “In the beginning there was nothing but water and mist...” From that I started to create my own fairy tale. After all, creation is like a game, and the whole world is born from it, it is arranged like a colourful mandala.”
Živile Baikštytė

This new work of national choreography is an original ballet of Živilė Baikštytė, which was born in 2019 when premiere of the one-act ballet took place. In 2023 A. Jasenka’s music was specially created for the new production, and a new script was written by E. Jaras. However, choreographer Ž. Baikštytė tells the same story – “In the beginning there was nothing”, and then everything was created. This “everything” was crowned by the creation of Love and Man. The impressive costumes and scenography by the artist G. Brazytė complement the choreographic narrative, and the audience has an opportunity to enjoy a great performance, to immerse themselves in the vision of Lithuanian mythology and the world created by the choreographer.

Premiere: 1 December 2023
