As we await the premiere of the dance opera, let us discuss the evolution of traditional genres for the stage.

When asked why he undertook to produce a dance opera instead of a regular dance performance, choreographer I. Galili explained that he wanted to kick himself out of the usual creative comfort zone. While we‘re waiting for the result of this brave experiment, we shall discuss the availability of interdisciplinary intersections between opera and contemporary dance. Is it possible that a dance opera might turn into a starting point for the future of opera and ballet? What were some of the similar experiments on foreign stages? And finally, who is the main chef in the busy kitchen of this joint genre?
