“Creative Impulse” is a choreographic workshop project of LNOBT’s ballet company, initiated in 2012 by the then leader of the company, artistic director Krzysztof Pastor. Since then, once a year, the audience of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre is invited to an exclusive evening where the choreographic work of the theatre’s ballet artists is presented. “Creative Impulse” gives the company’s dancers the opportunity to try themselves in new capacities: they create a dance composition, participate in miniatures choreographed by their colleagues, or perhaps try their hand at creating scenography, costumes, organizing an event and the entire work process. This year, the project is taking place for the eleventh time, and according to the company’s current artistic director Martynas Rimeikis this shows that it is no longer an experiment, but part of the identity of LNOBT’s ballet company.
