It’s a story of a friendship. Of children becoming men who try to erase the footprints of their fathers, but who, through the twists and turns they take, always end up returning home. Pietro is a boy from the city, Bruno is the last child of a forgotten mountain village. Over the years Bruno remains faithful to his mountain, while Pietro is the one who comes and goes. Their encounters introduce them to love and loss, reminding them of their origins, letting their destinies unfold, as Pietro and Bruno discover what it means to be true friends for life.

“From the first minutes of this epic film, you'll forget you're sitting in a cinema - you'll be surrounded by nature - mountains, valleys, the changing seasons and, once again, mountains. The film is full of visual metaphors that will help us understand the bond between friends even more and ask pertinent universal questions about the flow of life, transience, and the meaning. How many mountains will you have to climb before you reach the top? "Eight Mountains” is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Italian writer Paolo Cognetti." (Dovilė Grigaliūnaitė)
