Belarusian soloist M. Levchuk dedicates her performances to her compatriots fighting for democracy

This week, opera soloist Margarita Levchuk sang at the LNOBT in three performances of “Candide”. The singer dedicated each of her performances to her compatriots fighting for democracy in Belarus: the first performance was dedicated to Belarusian workers, the second to doctors, and Saturday's performance was honouring the country's athletes.

"I am not an exemplary athlete myself: I won’t hide that I lack the will for challenging exercises. This is why I really admire professional athletes, who never lack the strength for long, physically strenuous workouts,” - says Levchuk, who reminds us that currently the state of athletes and artists in Belarus is very similar, so it is necessary to encourage and support each other.

During the intermission, Levchuk took photos on stage of the LNOBT with the London Olympics winner Aliaksandra Herasimenia and other activists of the pro-democracy movement in Belarus.
